You Are On The Losing End

Sitting in silence all alone,
On a misty cold damp night,
I felt my heart break into,
For things that weren’t just right.
I could hear the words you spoke to me,
The words that broke my heart,
 The look I saw deep within your eyes,
That said we now must part.

I recall the look within your eyes,
When you said you really had to go,
You were off and leaving,
For reasons I did not know.
You tried to break it gently,
You found another life ahead,
For you to have found another,
To share your life, your love and bed.

I to this day don’t understand,
What have I done so wrong,
When you just up and left me,
You should be here where you belong.
You say you’ve found another,
To share your life, your love and bed,
But you are on the losing end,
When all was done and said.
