What a night we went through last night so much anger outside our house making it really hard to rest through the bouts of anger.

Poem Artwork

Bouts of Anger

All through the night I could hear it,
The anger it had been so loud and clear,
As I gazed a little closer,
I could see this very strong tear.
Bang and another clash,
What’s going on outside my home,
I listened to the anguish bouts,
Knowing I was not alone.
My husband jumped from the bed,
He said what’s going on out there,
I said I’m not sure but it’s angry,
It’s wild and savage I fear.
He opened the curtains, to our surprise,
The rain and the thunder had fought,
We were in the mist of bouts of anger,
And now the culprits were caught.
They must have seen us looking out,
As things soon quieted down,
The rain it had stopped and the thunder too,
As the tears washed over the ground.
All was well when we woke today,
The rain and thunder had both gone astray,
The bouts of anger heard through the night,
Had taken a turn to make all things right.

A powerful write with powerful imagery...the weather has been something else this season, it seems as it has been raging across the nation! We've had some pretty furious storms ouselves, not as bad as the ones out west, but still rough! Well done enjoyed!
Blessings,
Joyce B.

Lovely perspective, Rose, and you have crafted this neatly and with great care. It has just the right balance of lightness and threat. Love the upbeat and optimistic ending. You reminded me of how I used to think when a little girl - I can vividly remember watching and thinking, just like you... that the storm elements went quiet when they knew I was looking! :)) Great stuff. Beautifully written from such a fresh perspective to create visions of artwork that would light up any heart. Storms lately are becoming very intense and not very sure why....

Be always safe,

I think I've been through some "bouts of anger" before. An EF2 took care of my roof and now I have a new one and no internal damage. Yes, frightful they can be. I love the way you put this together about the anger. Excellent. Liz

Very creative poem depicting the terrible weather that seems like it is out to destroy us! Your angry metaphor is perfect! When I watched the Iowa tornado devastation this morning I though hell is let loose!...ET

Mother Nature seems to be extremely angry these days all over the world, and I truly believe She's trying to tell us something, but I also believe that most won't bother to listen.

Sometimes that ones over there in the sky, can't let it go and start a mother of a brawl with fuses burning out and things going bang in the night...kind of the ones we do, so, what's the difference?

As lightening streaks across the sky, and thunder roars, just think of it as the Angels up in heaven Bowling. That is what my cousin tells his little boy who is 8. I think it is so cute.
