My Little Runaway (Part 3)
The years again flew quickly by,
Together they grew old,
Their child grew up overnight,
She turned out to be cold.
For she had heard the rumours,
Of a time in her mother’s past,
The stories made her angry,
For question she would not ask.
She couldn’t fine forgiveness,
To offer her dear old Mom,
And soon she too turned to the streets,
Where her life too, would steer wrong.
Her Mother wept tears of sorrow,
How she longed to hold her child tight,
To help her try to understand,
Her past that she made right.
But all too soon the word had come,
Her child lived no more to roam,
For on that cold and blistery night,
God had taken his child home.
Still through the lonely hours,
When the nights are dark and grey,
You can see her walk the streets,
Where her daughter was led astray.
Although she still thanks God above,
For the life now she is living,
She weeps for her child’s love,
And prays that all’s forgiven.

Sigh....it is so unfortunate the reality of this Poem...the true depths of the saying: "the seeds we sow, are the seeds that grow."
It is so very very heart wrenching this story poem. This Pain Lives On Forever For The Mother Whom, so very sad...You did a fabulous job speaking your poetic voice Rose.
