Gosh no matter how hard I try to keep on top of things here lately my time seems to just dwindle away. Never enough hours to complete a task. I swear the older we get the less and less hours are in our days, I believe mine are cut to sixteen hours a day now and thats if I don't sleep. I am sure most of you feel this crunch.

Time’s Dwindling Away
Written by: Rose Marie Rideout

My oh my where have the time gone,
I can’t do all things, they take too long.
Not enough hours in a single day,
I remember it wasn’t always this way.

There was a time, I remember it well,
My days were a pleasure, all was just swell.
I tend to the children, did all my work,
Sew clothes and all meals I had to cook.

Went to school meetings, the shopping was done,
There was only me, I was the one.
Helped kids with their homework and all tasks,
When there was a question, it was me they’d ask.

I’d find time to sing and play through the day,
But as I’ve gotten older, time’s dwindling away.
My oh my, tell me now what has gone wrong,
I can’t do as much, things take too long.

My memory’s not as sharp as it use to be,
I suffer with back pain, I have a bum knee,
I can’t play kick ball, or play horsy back anymore,
My health with my age, seems to be getting so poor.

My oh my Tell me what has gone wrong,
I can’t do all those things, that now take so long.
There seems to be something in my way,
But as I’ve gotten older,  time’s dwindling away.

Excellent write Rose
Know just what you mean
time is still there, it hasn't changed a bit
Hasn'y gone nowhere
Its us, we are changing, slowing down,
Like an unwound clock
therefore we need more of that precious commodities
You call "Time"
Love & peace bewith you

Rose, above my desk I keep a cartoon of an old man looking down and saying: "God put me on earth to do a certain number of things; right now, I'm so far behind I'll never die."

Know the feeling well. Try awfully hard to get through all the daily chores, always hoping there will be enough time left over for those things I like to do, but lately it just is not working out. Great write, the kind that many can relate to...

Be always safe,
Karen

Seems the older we get the faster time flies!! When we were kids, time just d r a g g e d by; now it just seems to speed by with a quickness that we cannot control!! Very well penned; brava!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :)

So much left to do, and so little time. But, on the other hand, who cares? One fine day, I will be a floating wispy thing looking at my own tombstone with no regrets. Why? Because today is my day to be enjoyed to the utmost while striving to make things better in an imperfect world. Dear Rose, if you are trying to do more than you can do, then you are doing more than God intended you to do. And that is the truth :-)

Rosem there's something significant I meant to say about
getting older but...I can't remember what it is. Happily,
there's at least one thing that time hasn't robbed you of,
and that's your talent for writing. -gene.

Wow, Rose, this one rings true. The older we get, the quicker time seems to fly by! Well said.

I know as we age we slow down I broke my foot in the past twice and that slowed me down so much. Afraid to walk that i'll break it again. I guess time is dwindling for all who age, but a lot can be accomplished as we put our mind to it. There is no hurry at all, and we'll get things we need to do eventually done it seems.

Rose,

Excellent poem. And it's so ironic, you had time to a thousand times at once when you were younger and had no problem. Now that that part of your life is gone, and there isn't quite so much do, at least different things, time is just not there. Some say life begins in your older years, they're crazy.

Our bodies tell us that it is time to stop and smell the roses, rest and get off life's hampster's wheel going nowhere, take the time to ponder and reflect on life. HUGS! SC

But as I’ve gotten older, time’s dwindling away.

How true that seems to me also, and yet, the older I get, the less I sleep. Where oh where does time go?

Yes I think we all feel that way at times but as a wise man once said (well actually it was me just now) ...then is the time to smile at the things we used to do, laugh at the things we can't do, and enjoy more the things we are able to. Hugs and hurry home Cuz.

While you're wondering what happened to today, I'm trying to figure out what happened to SEPTEMBER!!!!
Guess this is why God made parents young.

Rose, yes, it is true, but the real truth is, you can slow it down. Just by always living in the moment...always savoring each thing you do. Never worry about what you have to do, just savor what it is that you are doing. Wonderful poem/song...
Peace, love, and light,

Getting older has also many perks, one of which is that we can freely bitch about it and get away with it. We are in the same boat, so, lets open a bottle of rum and forget all those dumb bones making noises and just hear the gurgling of that dark elixir going down to give our upset stomach something else to think.
