I know we will all have to face a peration one day, that is fact and there is nothing we can do to change the way life is. However I am ready to go when the good Lord calls but I am not loking forward to one day being apart from my husband.

Just One Breath,
                Just One Tear
November 7, 2008
Written By: Rose Marie Rideout

There you are in my vision,
A beauty so rich and rare,
Just one breath I breathe,
Just another warm tear.
The sorrow and the heart throbs,
I feel deep within,
When I think of the past,
Where do I begin.
You’ve made a difference love,
One I’ll cherish through life.
The day I was honoured,
When I became your wife.
Now with years are slowly passing,
I see and feel the age at best.
I feel tears more often falling,
And my heart throb as I rest.
Thinking of the future,
What it may hold for us dear,
I feel one last breath I breathe,
I share just one more tear.
You hold me as you’ll never let go,
You still snuggle me at night,
Although I worry for the many tomorrows,
You whisper softly, for now it’s alright.

You are a wise woman my friend... so the basic foundation is already in your wonderful marriage...you can't know when or where or why...so..just live for the moment... There are many who will never know the love that you have experienced... and the others who have understand and know precisely what you are feeling now... hugs, lindalaw

What a lovely couple you make. These are the good old days. Enjoy em'! Your poem echoes your fear and your hope. It will happen to be, that one day will be your last day. Knowing this, your poem is an accurate personification of how little in control we are over the inevitable facts of death. It all comes down to faith, Rose, and who you put yours in during this all too brief life we have been given. Like Mary Lacy said, "Death is the end of the circle of life."

Very beautiful write. True love is grand, but one day we will all be separated from the ones we love. Death is the end of the circle of life.

It's impressive how you balanced the emotions and beauty of love here, while maintaining the flow and form of this moving poem. I think many of us feel this way, no matter the age, with family members, friends, etc., so you will touch many hearts with this write. ~ Blessings, Michelle
