This write has nothing to do with me or my life, just a thought running through my mind as usual.
A lot of people separate because of some silly misunderstanding instead of questioning it. They are too quick to move on and leave the love they've known behind.

Just Call My Name
November 15, 2008
By: Rose Marie Rideout

I remember picking up my keys,
I remember heading on out,
Still wasn’t clear in my mind,
What these pains were all about.

I didn’t know where the words come from,
Or where they were leading too,
From what you had to say,
I understood that we were through.

Just call my name once again,
Make me turn around & run to you,
Just tell me that I misunderstood,
That we’re not really through.

Wipe the tears that I have cried,
Make my sun shine once more,
Just call out my name,
Don’t let me walk through that door.

You know the love we share dear,
Can’t come from another but me,
Don’t let me walk away from us,
Don’t let me take that key.

Sometimes we rush too quickly and run away and yet other times it must be done to save us from a fate worst than anything I can think of. Love is wonderful and if you can, work things out between you than it is great. but if there is not hope, leave before it is too late.

Words can hurt and cause heartache. You did a good job of putting yourself in someone elses place and projecting their feelings........M

truly a powerful write Rose
I have been there so many times,
But like you said, talking it out works
specially when you love one another
I love to say that We've been together for so long
We have become part of each other
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful write
Love & Peace be with you

So much emotion and "slice of life" captured and compressed into the but-a-moment of the timespan of this poem, Rose. I often wonder when, exactly, the moment of decision comes; at what point or degree of agonising pain. And how can it ever come if it is only a one-sided view, as it appears to be here? Relationships are ALL unique and no-one can ever for certain know for sure how others' operate. It's all a matter of chemistry. Whether after too long, too short, however long... it is never easy when it happens. You have portrayed very real people here in your deft lines. xx

Rose,

Yes, leaving is something some do too easily and sometimes not leaving is something some do too carelessly.

Nice capture of sentiment from a view rather than as a participant.

Thank you, ~Donna.

This is a good poem written from the heart. A lamentable situation is illustrated here, which is the aftermath of someone making an instant impression from a snapshot moment, without really knowing what came before. Jumping to conclusions had caused more people to leap to their metaphorical deaths than the stock market. Here's to your health Rose.

If you're sure of one another's love, there could never be misunderstanding.

This reminds me once my hubby gone as far as to packing up his suitcase, but drove around for several hours and then came home, for he knew and was sure of the love we had.

Some just pack the suitcase and keep on walking, and that would be sad.

A very emotional scene, Rose, and one that is, sadly, familiar to too many. Communications is often the thing most lacking in certain relationships. Moving piece. I hope you are feeling better! Hugs, Elizabeth :)

Many insist for the sake of it to shake water and oil to make a stable mix which will not do.
Sometimes separation is the only way to find peace when exposed to the unhealthy relashionship out of love.

It is a sad irony dear cuz that some leave to hastily without giving love a chance and trying to work things out but also some let things linger on long after the love has become little more than friendship. You captured the first one so well.
hugs from your down home cousin

Many are far too quick to move on, but sometimes, it really is the best thing to do.

Brilliant, Rose :-)

That tenuous moment of parting is pure-d awful, ending something which was destined to be forever. Walking away - each step is a little death. Write on Poet!!!
