So many people with wonderful jobs, beautiful homes and everything to their fingertips. Too many don't worry about tomorrow and few are prepared for hardtimes. It is devastating to wake up and find your world as it once existed is now completely turned around. If we could plan for what we are able, I understand everything isn't possible and we don't always have control.

What Lies Ahead
February 1, 2009
Written By: Rose Marie Rideout

You lay your head to rest at night,
Like all, you think of tomorrow, next week.
You wonder what life holds in store,
You look out the window and down the street.

All seems still for the moment,
Until your nind once again decide to roam.
You think of the children, your life,
It took a lifetime for you to own.

For what is here today, could soon be gone,
We can’t predict what tomorrow will`bring our way,
For all the love and luxuries we now have,
Could all too easily before our eyes go astray.

Our jobs we`ve all worked at through life,
Our family, our homes we have had for so long
All too easily destroyed and gone in a moment,
We ponder in thought again, what has gone wrong.

The sky appears to be dark and grey,
Yet a glimer of light still radiates through,
For we can survive if planned ahead,
Making right preparations, both me & you.

Dead on sis, my hubby and I find ourselves in this position and it isn't a good place to be. But I trust that everything happens for a reason. As our darling mother always saidm TRUST IN THE LORD AND HE WILL PROVIDE. Our family was raised with this belief and it will stay within our hearts forever.

Love you sis,
Selena

Rose,
In troubled, uncertain times this poem speaks volumes, the honesty of doubt so well delivered, the concerns we have for family, homes and jobs. Well said!

Boy have you hit on the right buttons! A very good friend of mine and his wife thought life was good. Each had good jobs, a new family, the youngest one year old in November. Three weeks ago his wife lost her job and the money crunch began. On Friday he was let go of his job, now what to do.... Nothing in life is certain and all too easily can be erased, beautiful writing....

Be always safe,
Karen

One job loss. One disaster. One sudden illness or death, and the safe, comfortable world as we once knew it is gone in an instant. Much to ponder in these lines, Rose, very well penned.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Sadly, our lives can change for the worse in an instant ... but that means it can also change for the better in an instant. People are having such financial and emotional hard times right now. Planning ahead can certainly help for some things, but not all, unfortunately. A thoughtful piece Rose, well said. Hugs, Elizabeth

It is sad that in todays troubled economy more and more people are losing homes, farms and businesses trhough no fault of their own.to see a lifetime of working and scrimping to get to where you are only to have it pulled out from under you because of something you had no control over is heart breaking to say the least and in some cases suicidal. We can plan ahead for some things and make contingency plans for others but as the story goes...best laid plans of men and mice

hugs
your cuz

Some of us are the lucky ones, we went trhu the needle's eye, we own the house, the car, and not a cent in debit. I don't know how I have coped with the situation of losing job, home and everything else due to the greed of few already rich people. In Germany a 12 billion billionaire committed suicide because he lost 3 billions, how sick was it?
