We Lost Love in a Teardrop Today

You never planned this trip,
You never mentioned it to a soul,
You quickly slipped away,
You left in our hearts an empty hole.

A Friend, Mother, Sister & Daughter is gone,
How did you expect us to be that strong,
When you quickly & quietly slipped away,
We lost love in a teardrop today.

You could have taken more time,
But I guess God had another plan,
For you never planned this trip,
When you reached out for His hand.

We shed a tear for us alone,
We felt it wasn’t time for you to go home,
We lost love in a teardrop today,
When you peacefully left us to go away.

We know you can see us from the window,
As you watch from your new home,
And you see the tears we cry for you,
Now that you’ve left us alone.

We may not understand the reason why,
But it was your time to go,
God must have had His reasons to call you,
We’ll have to accept though we’ll never know.

Rest now for we know one day,
We’ll meet again in heaven above,
For today we’ll cry for what we had,
Through each teardrop we lost
A Friend, Mother, Sister, & Daughter
A love.
