We were so lucky to have sold our house the first day it went on the market, what I wasn't counting on was having to stay here over three months while Fred started his new job in Nova Scotia. Some days seem to just drag by as I hate to be alone. I guess it's a small price I have to pay to live where my heart belongs.

As Time Slowly Drifts By
April 30, 2009
Written by: Rose Marie Rideout

I don’t seem to accept very well
The reasons why, I start to cry,
Why life seems more complicated,
As time slowly drifts by.
Sometimes I feel so lost,
As my mind wanders of alone,
I guess I don’t accept too well,
Why you’re not here at home.
Another day, another month,

But soon we’ll settle in,
Into our new home and style,
Where new life for us will begin.
It seems so slow going,
Three months can be so long,
I know you keep on saying,
It won’t be long when it is gone.
I just don’t seem to accept it well,
And then I have a little cry,
It just seems so complicated,
As time continues to drift by.

... but oh the thrill and anticipation of the Grand Reunion, Rose! :)) It's beautiful that you still have such an alive love for one another that counts the hours of absence so heavily. This must be what true "missing" is. Thank you for this feeling-write which puts me in your shoes. May the penning help to alleviate the pain and to pass the time... xx

Sad Rose but well said from the heart. Hang in there my friend. Just went through this myself as you know, except our move was forced. Take it from one who knows; it gets easier and actually better. And remember; God has His reasons.

Oh you sweet lady, your tears flow through the page, yet the best is yet to come. Patience and you will soon forget this pain when reunited with all the ones you love....

Be always safe,
Karen

Selling the home so quickly was and is a fantastic blessing! Fred's new job is also a wonderful blessing! You my dear, staying behind your hubby is surely lonely; but....the reward will be so worth it. It's okay to cry...let it out; don't let it build and make you sick...stay connected thru emails and phone calls often...and when you do meet again...think how wonderful that will be for you both!!! Cool!!! In the meantime, visit your friends, and do those things that you may not be able to do once you are gone....This will be the time to value and know that even tho it seems like 3 mo's is eternity...it will pass quickly... I loved your poem as it expressed so much! Take care and know you are not alone...and Fee can't wait for you to hurry and get there either!!!! hehe... hugs, lindalaw

Strange isn't it how separation can make 3 months seem like a million years. It's also true when it's over you'll wonder where the time went;-) Excellent poem...

The crying is good Rose. I agree with what Georg said below. All the anticipation you're feeling will build into a wonderful reunion. One day soon you'll look around and all your dreams will have come true. Not many people achieve that. I admire you for going after yours.
Hugs,
Marcia

To cry is to release the tension building inside, otherwise we would go berserk in a porcelain shop with a big hammer.
Have a handkerchief, can travel.

Waiting makes one appreciate the outcome more. "Time is too slow for those who wait..." but eventually it passes and the time to be together is there. Best regards for your resettlement, Rose.

We were so lucky to have sold our house the first day it went on the market - Wow, I'll say. I've been trying to sell my home for two years now in this abysmal real estate market. You are extremely lucky, indeed!
