Just one of those days. I am tired and still have so much to do here in our new home. The grandkids went back home yesterday and after being with them everyday for the past four years makes me feel so all alone.

I See Her Everywhere I go
August 30,2009
Written by: Rose Marie Rideout

Met her in the hallway,
Saw a smile as big as the sea,
I thought to myself,
How lucky one can be.

I met her in the kitchen,
Looking kinda worn and down,
So much has to be done,
Each time she turns around.

Met this same gal in the Den,
Hanging pictures on the wall,
She ran out of space  there,
So she hung more in the hall.

I then met her in the family room,
Talking to her grandkids on the phone,
Tears were running down her cheek,
They’re gone and she now feels so alone.

Seen her face later in the mirror,
She looked so tired and in need of rest,
Life has been so trying lately,
Guess she’s been put through the test.

I looked her in the eye,
Gently wiped the tears she cried,
I told her relax and enjoy each day,
They are too quick to go astray.

Awww Rose, this is so very sad...it is so moving. You have been through much with your move and all the changes, but I know even though the grandchildren have gone home, their love remains with you always. Touching piece! Hugs, Elizabeth

we must always remember, children are a gift from God, a gift that is not ours to keep ...

Hey sis, this is so beautiful, and so true. I know how hard your're working and even more how much you miss the grandkids darlin. The moving bit is for the birds, don't you agree?
And I really like what George Mateos suggested as a therapy, in fact I could use the same remedy myself.

Love you sis

Hi Rose, this was beautiful. But it is so true. Our children growup too fast and then they leave home. The next minute we have grandchildren and again one day they are here and the next day they are gone
,then we are left with far too much time on our hands. How you can ever be lonely,i know you only too well. You are always coming up with things to do.Keep up the great work. You are a wonderful person and i am so lucky to have you for my little sister.
Love Marion

Beautiful write, Rose!!! I feel very deeply what you have voiced here. Our house is so empty when my grandson goes home...that empty nest is difficult to adjust to. But I know he will come back soon, and I hold on to that!

Hugs,
Anna

Some gal is in need of a bunch of roses, a margarita sip, a feet massage and a hug so tender that will make her cry of happiness.

Rose,
Don't look so hard at yourself, you bring love and joy to all who meet you either in person or here at AD. You're wonderful!

Rose, how true. How fast the years fly by. I now have a 52 year old son, a 49 year old daughter, a 46 year old son and a 42 year old daughter and when I look at the pictures of them as children compared to what and who they are today, I feel these are actually strangers that at one time were my children but now are... familiar strangers.
One day in diapers, the next asking for the keys to the car.
Very poignant poem, Rose.

You have composed a beautiful and insightful poem, sad but life is so full you have to explore it and drink it in when you are alone it will fill the void and you may come to enjoy it.

Moving has got to be my least favourite experience, Rose; I am fortunate not to have had to move very much in my life. I send you love, peace, along with my best sentiments,
