It's not what is said but how you say the words spoken that one feels. This has nothing to do with Fred and I in any way, it's just words spoken by someone at sometime.

Words Spoken
March 21, 2010
By Rose Marie Rideout

I heard them from your lips,
The words so softly spoken,
As I cried tears of sorrow,
From words you’ve spoken often.

I felt my heart being crushed,
So harshley it was broken,
From the words that you whispered,
Those harsh words again spoken.

They’re just words spoken,
I tried to tell my heart,
But the more you had to say,
Just tore my world apart.

Why now, after all this time,
Why now after all those years,
Why now, Where have I failed,
As I wipe away the burning tears.

It’s not the words you said,
But the way you said them dear,
I heard them from your lips,
That you no longer for me care.

wounding words do pierce deeply...
and then always actions speak over all words
& as they say louder too...

Words heard in a moment when harshness was the goddess for an instant, the echoes of those words still reverberate, still remembered, they shouldn't never have been said...

...and words spoken cannot be unspoken, Rose. Your poem is strong and meaningful and reminds me what the Hindus say - the tongue can be the ugliest organ in the body.

Powerful but sad! I know I have been the king of rejection. BTW, how is the weather up there in NEWFOUNDLAND?

Cuz, how anyone could not care for you would be beyond my ability to understand...but tell me who it is and your big cousin will beat them up. Seriously this is an excellant poem with full and deep emotional impact.

Very sad. Brings about thought of words spoken from her to me and from me to her and so many thousands upon thousands of words that never should have been spoken in the first place.

This will resonate in the minds of many women. Marvelous poetry so insightful and poignant and it has happened throughout history when ever two lovers have been divided by words unspoken that were exposed without being said.
