Are family blood related or are they people who are there for us, people we love and are honest with, People we can trust. I was thinking we are all actually related to the one above.

I know I haven't been on here much lately and I am sorry but Fred really isn't doing the best and that is where my concentration seems to be, I am sorry but I noticed I am only receiving three postings from people on the den. Anyone slse with this problem.

Where do you go From Here
November 7, 2010
By Rose Marie Rideout

When we say the word Family,
Just who are we talking about,
Is it a brother, a sister, a parent,
Someone who loves us no doubt.

Some we can trust and turn to,
Someone who is honest and true ,
A Stranger on the street

Maybe that family can be you.

It doesn’t mean you share,
The same parents that you had,
The closer you are, the more you hurt,
How terrible this is, how sad.

Sometimes you meet a stranger,
Someone who from that very start,
You can trust them with your life,
And felt that deep within your heart.

Though the one you’ve shared a life with,
Has changed along the way,
They’ve become so angry and bitter,
Getting worst every single day.

Be happy  and proud for your family,
Help them when you can at anytime of day,
Let them know how much they mean to you,
Never let your love to strangers stray.

You raise some good points and questions that everyone here, I am sure, has had to tackle at some point or another in regards to family & friends. They say blood is thicker than water so maybe that explains why relatives do not have to try so hard. But friends, true friends are hard to come by and therefore a little effort has to be made. Keep in mind that we always have something going and are not always available to everyone at certain times and there are things at home that take attention and precedence over our digital realm. Yes, I have experienced the few reviews you speak of and I know it is because I am here so infrequently making it hard to remain in the eye of the reader. I noted that the quality of a writer's work does not dictate the amount of readership he or she may cull and yet the poor quality of some writers work primarily in spelling, proper word usage, rhyme or content can garner more comments the more often they post so it is not a consistent exercise of what works and what does not...but of availability or popularity to some degree. It is something that must be accepted and tolerated unless we have the time to read and comment on everything that posts here. There are some people here who comment whether you read them or not and remain loyal followers of your work, regardless. I say, may the Creator bless them all.

This is challenging to everyone who reads you words, Rose, and so so many have variations on what family means to them...we can't choose them at birth, we're born into a group, most of us at least, but as we grow we can make choices. Do I love my sister? Yes, but I never see her. Do I love my children? Yes, but I seldom see them and hardly communicate..and so it goes. In the end, what do we do?
Sorry, but you set me off here and I thank you for that.
I wish Fred the speediest return to good health and to you, always, much love.

John

Surely have missed your beautiful poetry. Fred will be better, and life will be blessed with continued health. Family is what you make them to be within your heart. I have been blessed with three beautiful children and their lovely significant others and a gorgeous grandson. They fullfill me and I am proud to be their mom.

Lovely poetry.
Peace, love and light,
Amber

Many times our family of choice is better then our family origin and I think that is meant to be. I hope Fred feels better soon.

Hi Sis,this is beautiful.I know that family means everything to us.We may not talk or call each other as often as we would like to but i think we all think of each other often. As you know we work crazy hours and then with the time change we can't always call as often as we would like to,but i know that we really care and love each other. I know that Fred is not feeling the greatest and i hope and pray that it will change for him soon.No one likes having to live in pain.It is so true how sometimes you can meet a complete stranger and know that they are good and a trustworthy person.

Rose, walking Kody this morning, about fiftreen minutes ago, I got to thinking about you and that you haven't posted lately and was going to write you when I got in and here you are. Great poem and so true. Sometimes you can meet someone and know immediately that this is a good person, one you can truly trust. I'm sorry that Fred isn't doing well and hope that, considering all, you are.
Your friend, Mark
