Not all paths through life are smooth. We often find many hurdles along the way. We must work hard to get on track for life can be difficult.

The Road We Travel
November 16, 2010
By Rose Marie Rideout

There’s only one road to travel,
The one our heart will lead us to.
The road that seems familiar,
For the life that we’ll go through.
It’s right that we should care,
But we don’t owe our life,
To live in a caring manner,
For hurt can cause such strife.

The road we travel,
Won’t always be uphill,
It will have many hurdles,
Making us to stand still.
We’ll take a look at the path<
To find our way in the night,
Leaning down the right road,
To make our decision right.

It’s a long trip through life,
Best trust where we chose to go,
For the hurdles may lead us astray,
To fast for us to know.
There’s only one road to travel,
The one our heart will lead us to,
The road that’s most familiar,
For the life that we’ll  go through.

You have shown us the many roads we travel, and the best way to choose them, though we don't always do it. Excellent, Rose!

This road can be a lonely place unless we have love to carry us over the potholes along the way. I'm sorry that darlin Fred has been suffering, Rose. I pray that he may quickly return to good and full health so that the journey might feel a little lighter. But thank God for your togetherness on the path... it's so hard when two walk the same road but always out of step, or even wishing routes might diverge. Good analogies here... it is the journey that is most important, rather than the arriving... and it's a journey of many baby steps, at times. Bless you, xxx

\Yes cuz, we do only tend to have main road that we must travel but sometimes we take rest stops, short excursions into the onto paths and sometimes we stumble and fall but find the strength to move on. You captured your subject well in this one and I give a big thumbs up for it.

The road of life sure can be an empty one if we don't invite God to come along with us.

Up until 3 days ago the road I traveled was filled with broken glass. Then the lord took pity. So Rose if you are having trouble walking your road the Lord will eventually guide you over it.

How true, but if the path was smooth we would never face a challenge to help us grow in inner strength. Words of beauty and truth. How's Fred doing?

Be always safe,
Karen

Of course, we all hope that the road we travel will, at the end of the road, eventually bring us to fulfillment and happiness. Well written poem, Rose, though I sense more than a slight hint of sadness.
Your friend, Mark
