Age Makes The Difference

I really understand how you are feeling,
 deep down within your heart.
It just isn’t fair about the rules,
Who says their rules are right.

The law has to have rules to protect us,
Till we reach the age to decide,
Who we really want in our lives,
Who should be our true guide.

Yes we have those hidden feelings,
So hard to keep them in their place,
As our heart beats its own pattern,
For the love we have sets our mode in a race.

We sit back and ponder,
How can they say this is so wrong,
When my emotions tell me truly,
It’s with the one I love is where I belong.

Our body makes all the changes,
But the years are slowing down,
My heart is telling one thing,
While my tears fall to the ground.

It’s hard to understand now,
What hurts deep within your heart,
But soon all this will change,
When nothing can tear you both apart.
