A View In My Mind
May 1,2011
By Rose Marie Rideout

The whisper from the winds,
Would hit the rocks below,
It seemed I had waited for hours,
Since he said he had to go.

Like voices calling from the waters,
Little cries heard in my head,
As I waited patiently,
For my man to return to bed.

I laid with candles burning,
I rest beside the windowsill.
It seemed I waited all night long
Returning was not your will.

Morning had come so soon,
The sky was filled with fog,
I worried that you had fallen
Hitting your head on the log.

I’ve cried for you my darling,
All through the night,
How could we let those few cross words,
Ruin something so precious and right.

arguments over the simple things are the worst kind. And that feeling is very captured here. Morgan

Love can so easily be ended in a heartbeat or a lifetime, sometimes by choice and sometimes by total accident or death. We all want and crave love and so few are lucky to find and hold onto it. Another wonderful write here dear cousin.

So after an argument, your man went fishing! That reminds us to never leave our loved ones when we have unsettled words and emotions. However, when I go fishing there is still nobody to wait up for me (except the cat!) -Good verses from 'your head'..

Cross words so easily said, so hard to retract. One thing I had learned throughout the fifty years of my marriage: Stop! Think! Use your brain rather than you mouth. My wife dead near eight years now, in retrospect there are so many things I would do differently and, oddly, something as simple stopping and thinking, for both of us, would have eliminated so many of our problems..
Good poem, Rosie, my friend.
