An Illness, Unseen PTSD

What has happened to you,
You seem so many miles away.
Since you've come back home,
You seem distant in a quiet way.
You disappear and stay to yourself,
Something's wrong, why don't you talk.
You say everythings fine dear,
You say I just need to go for a walk.
You don't seem to be your happy self,
Please talk to me, I just want to help.
I see you carry a heavy load,
Darling you can't do it by yourself.
You need the right person to confide in,
Someone you can open up to.
Maybe a Psychiatrist will help,
Who'll understand and help you through.
I'll always be here, no matter what,
I'll always be right here by your side.
PTSD is hidden deep in one's body and mind,
You're strong, you'll pull through to stay alive.
It's not easily explained, it's hidden deep within,
Nothing another can see or understand.
I'll go through it with you every single day,
I love you dear, you are forever my man.
Some don't find a way to see it through,
They turn to gambiling or to drink.
They can't handle the hurt and the pain,
They think, I don't need a shrink.
PTSD is something real,
A lot of people just don't believe.
They don't feel the hurt and pain,
They don't see how many grieve.
PTSD is real in so many,
From one's self the life it steals.
Please understand the illness,
For those who suffer, PTSD is real.
While some get PTSD from dramatic events that caused them to be spinal injured like me. Since mine was in surgery and I was under anesthesia. I never had any of those symptoms or deep depression.
