It seems every once in awhile my mind wants to take a break and I'm not quiet sure of what to write but then the words seem to flow from my pen.

Every Once in Awhile
September 14, 2025
 By Rose Marie Rideout

My mind seems to wander,
I don't know where it's gone,
I just know it's not here,
With my pen where it belongs.

Why does my brain seem foggy,
Nothing comes to mind,
Like the words I've often written,
One line after a line.

But every once in awhile,
I think back to another year,
Surrounded by loved ones,
A gathering we once shared.

Maybe it was at Christmas,
I see the presents by the tree,

The smell of our dinner cooking,
As we played games so happily.

Maybe another day in time,
When our dreams seemed to come true ,
With thoughts of our planned future,
Of things we'd really want to do.

But every once in awhile,
I think of something to write,
The words just seem to flow,
Then I write throughout the night.

You echo of thoughts of many of us. Except for one thing for me. In my entire life, I never worked or wrote after 5 pm unless it was something I had to finish by the next day.

Enjoyed,

Ron

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
