Night Time Cries
February 15, 2026

It's late at night
Everyone is sleeping,
I'm awake here alone,
For sleep isn't for me tonight.
I lay in bed for several hours
Wishing the pain would fade,
Tears run down my cheeks,
What am I to do.
Medicate myself but
It doesn't seem to help.
I decide I have to get up
For I can no longer rest
So many people tonight
Can't rest for other reasons

Wake up afraid and scared

They need rest but not tonight
Just night time cries
What is one to do
Looking at a full day ahead
A birthday dinner to prepare
Energy at it's lowest
Night time cries
Has drained and exhausted me
The weather changes
it doesn't agree with me
So I stay awake all night
That's how it must be.
