(A journey to the Mediterranean. And into the past.)
There was a place in this world,
where blue was the warmest of colors.
Deeper, in a heartftelt, bittersweet cry,
for a burning journey to her roots,
with a secret melody in her ears,
she knew she had to go deeper.
Only that portion of the sky,
metrimeno topo,
was allowed to be her witness.
Before the bonds,
before the loss,
before the blood and the gold,
given away to the sound of children laughing,
there had been words
that spoke to the heart;
priceless, timeless.
Looking at the tender chaos
of a familiar sea,
she remembered a past
she had never seen.
With the waves,
came the insolent voices
of her scattered family.
This place brought a smile to her face,
with the turmoil of salt and memory.
This is a book of free verse poetry that addresses the seven main tests in life and offers some sensible solutions to passing those tests with minimal discomfort.
A further collection of poems, many from years in the Middle East, but also the California San Francisco and Central Coast areas (Santa Cruz, Carmel, Big Sur, Berkeley, etc.).
God Bless you and Your Loved Ones
