There once was a woman
who woke up in the morning
feeling weak and soft,
discovering in the mirror
the reflection of a rag doll.
By the time the sun
was up, in the middle of the sky
and bright burning rays
equalized all,
the poor thing shook from head to toe,
fearing for her pale skin,
made of thin, white cloth.
When she touched her head,
instead of silky hair,
she found the round tips
of pins, all over her.
She saw her mouth was sewn
and her head was heavy with hay.
It's strange that she could feel the pain,
deprived of her humanity.
Then she felt brutal hands
that lifted her stuffed body
up, to an unknown fate,
only to let her fall
into the knifelike night.
She could feel precisely
a thousand needles thrust
into what used to be her flesh;
her body was
that of a Voodoo doll
and the curse was on her.
Her jagged life has now ended,
yet her soul is trapped within her,
till the strong seams that stitch her sides
will fall apart, one day.
' By the time the sun was up in the middle of the sky'.....'Yet her soul is trapped within her, till the strong seams that stitch her sides will fall apart, one day' I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!! Liana Margiva
I wonder how many feel like the doll...pinned within the curse of failure, sadness, disease, and any other form of atrocities that life can embedd within them...
how sad to go through this life and not be able to touch upon a small joy or happiness that is within the grasp...
I have enjoyed the reading of "A Thousand Pins" for its imagery, surreal and impressionism; for its artistic, ontological and poemization; for its esoteric message on teleological and abusive violation of human rights. "A Thousand Pins" is what one can call poetic excellence painted with the colors of the rainbow of wisdom.
Much gratitude to the author "A Thousand Pins" for sharing her JEWELS.
Greetings dear Axilea,
I related instantly to your poetry. Your words ooze and flow in melancholy, a sharp and vivid story of painful love and the bitter sting of lust. The acrid stench of loneliness..... You seek acceptance and you have found it here.....You seek approval and appreciation for what and who you are......You shall always find it here from me and those who love you unconditionally.....There is still hope in this dark world.....one artistic heart at a time.....Thank you for sharing this personal slice of you my friend. You are loved.
Ouch. Pulled this way and that way, stuck by the sharp pins of life: a painful existance. Reads like a woman in an abusive relationship. Well done, Axilea!
The captivating music of birds and the enchanting beauty of roses have, each in their own right, inspired people around the world for as long as anyone can remember. How the two combine with the challenges faced by a struggling writer in Georgia to c
