ive always felt more at home, at ease, more similiar to the 'freaks' the outcasts. .. gypsy sorts. .. . the Boo Radleys of the world. ... always feel drawn to the character inside the darker characters, the realness of Quasimodo, the humanity of Frankenstein's monster. . .

Interesting write! I have been to see the circus many times over the years and have enjoyed it each time. As for life itself, we all have choices to be made and sometimes we must accept and live with them as well...
I've only been to one circus in my life. I was about 6--went with an aunt I really didn't know. Farm kid in the big city. There was some cotton candy in a garbage can--untouched. I only wanted to try a tiny little bit, but the big,bad aunt slapped my hand away. I've never wanted to go back since.--still bitter about it, though I know all about garbage now. Pink cotton clouds that really are garbage, monster aunts, misunderstood minds, the bitter aftertaste--the poem works for me too. Let the circus come. Whanna keep me from enjoying myself? Oh yea?!! Well I'll bring my own cotton candy, so THERE! Sugar-spun smiles hiding inhumane Cruels--give the girl what she wants/needs for a change already! Want: Love, freedom, humanity. Need: Love, freedom, humanity... (boy am I on a rant)
I live in a positive world so these poems scare me. The reality of your life saddens me. I wish you more hope and faith than my usual goodwill.
