Tree floating
on uncertain waters,
perfumed leaves
drying in the sun,
drifting like the afternoon.
Then, sudden cuts -
in a sequence that seemed unending -
and the voyage becomes a staccato.
These moments are not made
of secret paradise
and not made of private hell;
just the bold encounter
of vivid green
and the deepest blue,
like music, unspoiled
that takes the living
to different shores,
unexplored paths
suddenly lit up by an oil lamp.
The wick burns
so that eyes can see
a nanosecond of life's geometry,
although once the journey's over,
the water hushes the crackling flame:
"Quiet", it says,
"Get ready for darkness,
be prepared for the waterfall".
Precious is the image that was once seen,
now used to draw maps of endearment
and write formulas for the secret alchemy
of a new...
brighter, more intimate story.
If only human beings can protect and appreciate the beauty of our mother earth, more poems of this degree will always flourish for our future generations to cherish and embrace.
This is a masterpice! "Tree floating on uncertain waters", to me, is an example of life's journeys. Sometimes, I am on uncertain waters, but continue to float, or travel. Poems can be explained or interpreted differently. To me, the perfumed leaves dying in the sun can be the weariness, or being tired in our journey, and how our perfumed leaves can begin to die as we go through life.
"Precious is the image that was once seen,
now used to draw maps of endearment"
Not only do you incorporate vivid imagery, you have the courage to interpret it into more meaningful lines.
You have true power over word and reader alike.

The dreams we focus upon ends up subliminally being part of our everyday life. Your fulfillment wants glory and in today's mortal world we work like hell to get to it when no one, I believe, ever gets it all.
There are so many thoughts and views of which one can immerse themselves within your work...this is one where we can find the escape into the eternity of more than life...even the moments are but a thought grasping thoughts...the brighter one is the one we wait upon...
As always your works are riveting from beginning to end as you dwelve into the beauty and wonder of life living and love and see the many intrinsic little twists and turns that we all too often take for granted. Sweet indeed.
Oh, the things that can be read in a brief, dull, flickering flame! This is how I behold life: Two steps in the light, a day's journey in the dark, but what I see in the light guides me on my journey. I'm glad she saw the light. I'll bet she makes it over the falls and finds that missing chemical -- spins herself a straw-room full of golden tapestries. --Charlie
Ah, any poem that has the word alchemy in it, is a poem for me! A Vision of Life's Geometry has a very Tantric slant. An offering of music and perfume, water, and leaves that make it nature's divine presence. Of course the metaphorical fire is an element that just has to be in this poetry...this reader is a worshipper of this poem's sensual world to be transformed and would like to venture on to a sequel, "a new...brighter, more intimate story"...do tell..be well always, Axilea...Blessed Be.

A way to use your mind for silent communication. Speaking about the methods in the book I have used since a young age.

"...maps of endearment."
Your marvelous, unique phrasing in "images you keep" leaves an impression.
Yes, because of this, I am now "...ready for darkness" and "prepared for the waterfall."
Love it!
