- written a year ago, after a strange dream -

I had a dream tonight,
It left me trembling,
It left me weak,
what [else] could I do, [but survive]?

It took the sap
out of my leaves,
they were left lifeless,
just like my mind, abandoned.

It was a crowded dream,
where greed battered my roots
and wind shook my future,
but still I stood.

I had a dream that I forgot,
because it flew,
where echoes and thunders flow,
forever lost in vastness,
hidden from my sight.

There's no horizon to show me
the direction of my thoughts
and no sky above my head to tell me
about the earth where I come from.

I have been given love,
I have been taken,
my light was even stolen
and I have accepted to be bare.

I'll let my leaves fall,
allow the dream to fade
with the morning light,
empty, but no longer afraid.

I'll let my naked body
be covered only with peace.

Simply beautiful. Who is to say that reality is not a dream and dreams nothing more than reality hidden? I like this one very much. Thanks for sharing such intimacies of your mind.

Peace be with you. Shay White

This is an interesting work...even though it stems from a dream it's characteristic nature leaves an emotional concept of life in general...the visions of worldly symptoms and the loss of love while also losing one's own light...ending with an afterthought of peace and bareness the only way we come into this world...

peaceful and naked before birth...

very nice, Axilea...

enjoyed...

Peace, my dear, is a very good state to be in. Allow light to seep into your soul once more, it really is not stolen, you still have it, never think you have no light, for you my dear have many reserves where that is concerned.
Much Peace, Love, and Light,

In the cold, cold, frigid below-freezing temperatures, it is love that is the expendable extremity. It is the tip of the nose, the baby toe-- the pinky finger that has to go-- the sacrifice for freedom-- for life. She rubs the sap backwards, into her branches-- her trunk-- her heart, and wraps her rigid bark around her. There she shivers-- naked-- waiting for the axer's compassionate HACK! at her tip-top tawdry twigs. And when he comes, she sighs. But she feels a peaceful warmth for all that. --Charlie

I do believe that dreams are the bridge between what we must be in reality and what we would like to be in our minds...I would look at this smoothly imaged dream that you captured so well in this poem, as a hint that you will not be held down or smothered by the world around you.

life reveals a struggle within your words Axilea. i am immersed in thought as i read these lines again. naked and bare to just the elements of life is indeed pristine in our natural world. without our sources of survival we shall always be bare. deep reading and i am thankful for your works.

Critical insights into your awakening after the dream. The very essence of purging restrictive mind coverings and body frills for a patchwork of peace is cathartic, ready to own your new awareness. I say this pointing to the shelf above the hearth with scented candles staring BARE at my reflection in the mirror. The reality catches up with this poem - one just can't admire bare, you've got to do something with it - replant the dream as collateral to your future yearnings, Axilea...nice poetry...be well always...Blessed Be.

Warmly,
Sage

Dreams are mysterious parts of our mind where subconsciously we harbor good and bad. Dreams have never been figured out or predecided upon. I feel different about dreams and it borders upon the quantum physics that is a mystery. I think if you read up on Quantum Physucs you will find some answers.

Susan
