- a writing with a short life, soon to be deleted -

Three miserable poems
A year.

Maybe
Three
Hundred
Poems…
Or more
She writes.
Who knows,
Who counts
The uncountable?

He does.

In Arabic numerals
In additions
On bank accounts,
Credit cards,
Multiple
Foreign
Investments for
A Calculating mind:
Knows the codes
And the odds
Programs,
Plans,
In complete loneliness
- Never sharing -
Too damn afraid

Oh!
What if a thief came,
What if a woman stole
The content
Of his precious
Precious
Precious
Safe.

"Be safe,
Women are bad,
Be safe,
Alone
Where you can rest
13 hours a night
With ear plugs
To protect you
From ever noticing
That others exist".

This means
(might mean)
They breathe
And walk
And love
And dream
Open to the world,
Sometimes asking
For loneliness
To think,
To put some lipstick on
Simply... To be.

Oh,
Unacceptable life
- Other than his own -
And if…
This life
is a woman’s!
And if…
He falls in love
And still
She has a will
She has needs
And asks
And thinks
Oh, deep thoughts…
At times
He feels so small
Too small.

FEAR
Has the voice
Of a woman, asking
Has the smell
Of his own
Sperm and sweat.

"Quick, attack
Be a don Quixote
Who fights a woman's
Inescapable strength.
Destroy
With words and acts
The womb that carried you
As a child,
The one that let you in
As a grown-up man...
But will you ever be?"

Business -
Hidden secrets -
An office to hide
Papers
Passwords
Codes
Of his own
Planned destruction.

He is
Not much
But could have been
More
If he hadn't asphyxiated
The embryo of a man
In a plastic bag.

Axilea! Little wonder we love you! You speak diectly to the issue of so many weak, hurtful and insecure men. And it's getting worse...so many men seem emasculated and effeminate, lacking direction and lashing out at those to whom they owe so much.

Blessings,
Keith

This is intense and I could feel you almost studying this subject and disecting his weaknesses as you tried to understand who he is. Strong images and great analogies blend in this one and must say it bears rereading.

Sometimes it's better so, some poeple make lousy fathers, and to some, real life passes them by, yet what makes man so, is a learning, that he should be what he is, we are the worse of for it, and so are you! Very deep and thought provoking write, I enjoyed it much!
Bless You! Jasmin Horst
