Talent and pain

Met on the steaming hot

Concrete platform today.

It was half past noon,

Blazing inferno

Of darkness ignited by the sun

Where waves of hyperheat were

Vacuumed by the white sky

To wave adieu

To the metal and the flesh

In a flash of kerosene and

Intellect with a soul

For the take off

Of creativity.

From the runway

Of strong inspired zest

Begins a flight to fix

And sew the sky,

A perfect bubbly binding

Made of new paths,

Of art to transcend

Worlds of emptiness so

That trivial ill-spirited fakes

Are already transformed

On the tarmac

By talent.

Look:

The pain took off!

The energy bursts through and takes flight in every sense. The ending is especially sharp and demands the right kind of attention.
Among my favourites, Axilea.

Armed with a sewing kit,
She took on the world,
mending tears—fixing holes—
quilting layers of bitterness
into a comforting blanket of wisdom…
And she zig-zagged across the seams
to reinforce the junctions.
And she sewed doo-dads and ribbons
where life got worn.
And she stitched a very fine blanket stitch,
and made new paths across the sky.
You can see her there at night—
unraveling the un-perfect moon,
and tatting it back again…
She peeked into your window last night,
because you were sleeping,
and whispered inspiration in your ear.
Did you listen?
There’s an artistic path waiting for you
to write (right?) yourself in its creases…
