I contacted an alien
under torrents of glowing rain,
impatience throbbing
in a bottomless, passionate soul in storm.
I felt its awkward likeness and greeted
the texture of difference.
I got in touch with an alien,
its face lit from an unknown sun,
its ageless youth the answer to my answers
and, from across the border,
we touched, although the touch of my skin
was poison for its system,
we kissed, although its lips were like tentacles
and I felt a tight grip around my heart…
then we fell,
shaken with the rawness of a revelation.
We fell
deeper into awareness
deeper into the unknown…
from across the border
that we had betrayed:
a limit invisible to the
unleashed soul,
that only exists
in that part of one’s mind
where things are learned by heart,
repeated day and night,
until they are meaningless
- that’s where frontiers live.
I have spoken
to the alien,
forgotten how a voice should sound
(in a world of gravity and cables),
heard its signal of silence,
given away my mortality.
It hurt us both
skin, hair, carapace injured, broken,
but we learned
how to explode
every
single
phoneme
of the word “alien”
(we eloped and we will never return).
Another interestingly work of illusive reality Axilea, though it doesn't seem so when one reads through the very core of those thoughts you express...your escape and or grasp of the idea one can touch upon the skin of an Alien is like the galactic adventure into the universal invisibilities. One must learn oneself into the ability to become or join those worlds hidden within their own dimensions...

Where things are learned by heart. This one line says it all in your fabulous writing!

Axilea - Intriguing and complex poem. From the literal alien to the figurative all kinds of possibilities present themselves. I see it as speaking of the alien within ourselves that we must love to transcend
limitations.
Especially liked:

and the last lines:

Crossing cosmic thresholds - akin to crossing thresholds we carry within; how can we separate the two? We each carry our aliens with us and in confronting and melding, we can transcend our state of being - evolve. Very insightful writing that is both intellectual and spiritual.
Ah...conjoining with an alien and having your horizons broadened. Great. Love the story and wonderfully told. But if you are never to return, please send a message back from whereever. Love it. Liz
Axilea (a beautiful name): I love the writing, the rhythms, the
thought behind the writing. I felt the presence of the alien...
and love the wrap-up. -gene.
A cosmic cnidarian? Oooo, I hope not (remember Dani's poem?) But, to be spoken to--to speak without the restraints of gravity, tongue and gutteral throat-noise, what a dream-- like a whale song in your mind, sound waves bouncing from your id to your frontal lobe... just to hear your name spoken that way-- a Revelation's white stone holding your sacred name-- reverberating in your mind. What else could the truest of all loves be? Goodbye earth, to be sure! Words like 'alien', 'stranger'-- all sorts of stereotypes become cosmic dust... and weight shifts from shoulder and physical form, to words--to meaning--to depth. --Charlie
I am in constant awe of your orginiality[...{sp}maybe not a word but don't care] and creativity....of course I will need to reread to grasp the intended meaning...i like it

Sometimes our life is like living in an alien world. I found this poem to be quite enlightening and thought provoking.

This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given

Nessa as always your subliminal messages flow and ebb through your words like molten passion capturing others hearts as you go.
