scarlet and small
slightly greasy
tired hair rests
on shoulders

an unanswered question
a sound from her wet lips
hands straightening the apron
on her sad round hips

I turn around
and there is light
like a surprise
as I discover
her caramel aura

I turn around
and for the first time
I hear her song
in the silence that brought us

together

There is both an edge of harsh reality and the mystical that sorrounds each of us as spiritual beings in this atmospheric cameo. I like its sparcity and precision, like those hands smoothing the apron into place. Yes, often we reveal the combination of our whole selves in the moments caught suddenly and unawares. A real appreciation here. TY Kate xx

Axilea,
A gem of a moment captured, but greater than 'moment' a realisation for all time forward, and a look inside us.

Axilea - love to read your language of images.

Especially liked:

an unanswered question
a sound from her wet lips
hands straightening the apron
on her sad round hips
and
I turn around
and for the first time
I hear her song
in the silence that brought us

together

I have the sense of coming together with all humanity and thus with ourselves. - David

Superb! I feel as though I'm there...seeing things anew. I love the phrase "her caramel aura" and the last stanza is...perfect.
