Love Vertebrae

On getting love, flow things unsaid, unwritten; when all is expressed, exposed, exhausted. A current brings the numinous energy hidden in the words one never dares to say.

Upon getting love, the structure is revealed, spinal revelation, backbone held, head up straight, upon getting love (for love, for love).

Architecture of feelings, positioning of  columns, restoration of temple, concert of strong separate pieces; there surely is some division that leads to love. A world cut in two. For some, it matters not to be on the opposite side, what matters is the building of a bridge.

On getting love, some love, some chosen love, there is a place for the unknown, reached vertebra after vertebra (after vertebra).

On giving love, there is still room for those things of me that I cannot see , there is some space revealed and, on giving love, purpose inhabits it, a lighter prose, some given love enlightens that other me, that forgiven love.

Forgetting love (it happens sometimes), is like a mask: oniric, beautifully grotesque, pornographic, omphalopsychic, invites to the spectacle while diverting the gaze simultaneously. Forgotten love, a fleeting juncture, an orgasmic sadness;
it happens sometimes, but here we are.

Upon regretting love, numb silence falls, upon the absence, the spineless violence of stolen words that still look me in the eye. And somehow, bomb words leave shells, licked by caressing waves, of nothing special, seas of transformation, where abundance writes sun nets, where splintered light is caught mirroring a smile.

Love found by chance: click, a young girl plays knucklebones in the shade, a timeless smirk in the early afternoon.

Oh how I so love this, Axilea. I am a big "fan" of love in all its intricacy and glory and yes, sorrow. For a long while now, I have been posting quotations about love on Facebook; many of them my own. This is a wonderful presentation that you have shared with us, your readers. Thank you for this gift. Love and best wishes,

Regis

Like Jude has said, this communicates at vertebrae level and I love the wonderful analogies you draw here, Axilea. I am currently in love with your poetry: it penetrates to splitting bone and marrow asunder (to use the Biblical phrase) and explains exquisitely what love does in the visible and tangible physical world although in itself quite difficult to even recognise or analyse. Some powerful passages, in particular for me the section on architecture which, in that place of deep knowing, is spot-on, and the mask which points to and diverts from love simultaenously: AWESOME! I would love to inhabit your mind for just a wee while to see how you make such electric connections. In summation, the building of the bridge is all that matters; if we don't get to cross it, at least we know it has been there for us and we have not been entirely alone on our journey through this life. I'll give you a game of knucklebones anyday if such mind-expanding thoughts result! :)) xx

Loves a 'funny' thing
Agape a sure thing
In your circle of love
Your head can spin round and round
In your purity of agape
It can surely be found.
You take the reader through the whole cycle
The joys - the ups and downs.
I don't think I read anything so profound
Brilliantly and masterfully written.

Such a perfect description of sometimes love's circle. I love your bridge metaphor as you are correct that a bridge connects both sides dissolving opposites in theory. Forgetting love, yes it sometimes happens, maybe too often, but regretting love? Never. Patrick

A unique and skillfully delineated essay on love.
Highly articulate, highly intelligent, and the form
is unusual, the writing splendid. In short, Axilea,
I love it. -gene.

love is to architecture as architecture is to anatomy, as anatomy is to love. the poem is the bridge that links these elements. but it is clear here, that love is supreme.

This paints the picture of love well but I might add that forgetting love, regretting love... It's impossible. Both come from the fact that you still love. It is the rejection that you hate.
God bless,
Lew

Structurally, what strikes me, Axilea,
is these vertebrae are laid horizontal
rather than in the conventional (expected)
vertical position..
thematically, Aquinas is brought up to date
without the heavy theology for here is feeling
without preach or sermon.
