Ripe with promises
That weren't there
A month ago;
It is amazing
How a single decision
Can open up
A world
Of possibilities,
Can turn darkness
To light,
And ignite the whispers
Of "Maybe,
Just maybe,
Life will be better
Once I am freed
From the ever present spectres
Of sickness
And early death."
Having weight loss surgery
Was the best thing
I've ever done
For myself
And already
I am reaping
The rewards;
For I am
Embracing life
And moving forward,
Ever onward,
Toward new adventures
And happier days
Than those I've lived
Thus far.
