I stand nude before
A looking glass
Considering what clothes
I will wear today.
Should I go casual
Or would professional
Be the ticket?
Tonight will be a party,
Should I wear formal
Or will semi-formal do?
Should my makeup be spare?
And what about my hair?
Do I dress for function
Or do I dress to impress?
It is then that I realize
That I am much like
A paper doll;
The world outside
Sees only what
I allow it to see,
While here inside
The absolute privacy
Of my inner world
I am nude,
A canvas awaiting, what?
Which is the real me,
I wonder?
The canvas?
Or the creature I create?
I simplify things by basically wearing the same things everyday. Blue jeans and a t-shirt. I never spend ant time trying to figure out what I'm going to wear. I just grab and go. I think it's a guy thing. But I enjoyed your poem.

Eh . . . We are all concealing something from the world at large. We awake, grab the face we will use for the day and venture out living lies for the most part.
