I ache for you.
Each night since
I sent you
Away
I lie here, alone,
So alone,
Wondering why
Things have to be
The way they are.
Why couldn't I be free
Of these chains that
Bind me?
These chains forged
In my distant
Youthful past
By the actions
And inactions
Of trusted others?
Why can I not
Shut them out
The way I have
Shut you out?
So tonight I ache,
My body once knowing
Of one torment
Now seized by another,
And oh how I miss you.
I've left myself wanting
That which I've never
Allowed
Of Anyone,
And I've only myself
To blame.
