I love this poem. It really captures the meaning of friendship, such as the casual conversation and the simplicity of sharing a cup of coffee with each other. Friends are there to enjoy or simply just chat. Well done! My heart is warmed!

I like the use of vernacular speech, as if you couldn't tell from my own writing, and I love what this poem offers of it, as well as the rhyming. You hit on something I have greatly missed any time I have moved--the placement away from people with shared memories. They are very important...Jerry

I love your "Friends" poem, Richard. It states a BIG idea in a FEW words. The first few years of my life was spent on a farm. All the farm houses had a front porch. Daddy called them the piazza. In the summertimes the piazza is where we sat and visited with neighbors and friends, and your poem reminded me of that.

Indeed. All a man needs in life is a bottle (figuratively speaking) and good company. The only equipment we need in social circles is our tongue and a backlog of stored info in our brain to offload or share. Table talk - marvelous.
