Time to learn a lesson of
            Woe
            Care
            Beseeching
            Knowledge;
Foul is the air we breathe
            watching Brown/Black bodies
            bloat in noonday sun- -
            coated red with blood-stripes
            of more than on a flag
            waving in the distance…
A hand raised.  “Who are they?”
            Silence—
                 broken only by the stirring
                      mem’ries
                      of passed days;
The bodies bloat more as we watch
            from our cooled, shaded room
            and tears stain knowing cheeks…
Red blood-rivers soak the dust
            as sunset arrives;
We blink and the scene disappears
            but we have learned—
            a PRIDE rises as we stand immobilized
            Brown/Black bodies….remembered
