This is a true definition of my last boss before I retired.
Fast and furious-paced, She enters a room, her eyes black dots on a pasty white face. Fuming and fussing at the clutter on her desk, She hollers for someone in the office And confronts the person once in her presence. ‘Why is this on my desk? Didn’t I ask you to take care of this yesterday? Can’t you see what you did wrong? I just can’t understand why you don’t get it. What planet do you live on? Must not be this one…. I’ve tried everything I can imagine to get you to understand.’ This goes on and on and on Until one day she embarrasses a worker in front of others; The worker is silent and does her bidding, Not wanting to lose his job. She calls in sick in December and We learn she has cancer that will soon take her. Some cry, others rejoice that her acid tongue will be silenced. Soon is not enough; let it happen today, O Lord! is the plea. It goes unheeded for six months until she dies an agonizing death; I can only think what she has done to others comes back to haunt her And her family. May we all rest in peace now she is gone.
Such a sad write...I too have known those people, worked for one once! Quitting that job was the best thing that ever happened to me. She actually made fun of my Christianity and how I dressed, she whispered things only loud enough for me to hear parts of her conversations with others. I finally had taken all that I could...and in the middle of a very busy day...I announced..."I QUIT!" She actually told me that I couldn't...I just smiled and said, "Watch me!" Leaving this wonderful job and horrible boss behind gave me the determination to go back and finish my degree...thank God! It's ironic how what goes around comes around...this same boss is now stamping my payroll check! Loved the write! A bit sad though!
