Hummingbirds

Iridescent miracles of flight
with invisible wings

and fragile forms, hummingbirds
spend their days

in search of nectar. In the wake
of gentle zephyrs,

they dart from flower to flower,
burying their slender

bills in fragrant blossoms.
Their breath's ambrosia sweetens

the air as they hover in our gardens,
their mosaic colors majestic

in miniature, like tiny sparks
from Northern Lights.
