This poem continues a theme developed elsewhere in my work. It was written after reading an essay concerning the accumulation of 'literary/writing capital' published in the L=A=N=G=U=A=G=E book. The poem deals with the quality of the comuunication exchange that occurs between poets and readers of poems when the cultural background to the exchange is 'hyper-capitalist' (Neo-Liberal). More generally the poem also explores a theme dear to postmodern theorists i.e. how abuse of 'power/oppression' can be embe dded into the reading experience ... Enough theory, I hear, what about the poem itself?
