* no matter what sacrifices we make in life..for whatever reasons, destiny only controls the journeys end. the roads are lain out before us, to choose freely. therefore, we are the masters.
it doesn't matter how many wrong/right turns we have made...our roads have led us to eachother. to believe that it will be smooth from here, is foolish. as long as we travel hand in hand...the forks in the road can never separate us. hold tight, dearest...i feel a rollercoaster ahead. aml....k

Once upon a long time past
Was I, a maiden faire
With eyes that glinted golden green
And flowing auburn hair

T'was never born for beauties rage
Nor shamed disfigurement
Just plain, as I, could yet beguile
A lads sought sentiment

Recalling now, what e'er brought forth
Decisions o' my life
Was fear of mediocrity
Cut deep as surgeons knife

Alas, the ego reconciled
T'would best be for the good
To leave the loves that bore the joy
For ones most understood

I cast off the chords of music
Set free, no more to write
Gave way to all the 'real life' things
In hopes, t'would keep me right

A good wife, and a mother
Simple, in its place
Honour in their titles
Still left an empty trace

Divest of creature comfort
Alone with cub and cave
Began to wither senselessly
No ego left to save

And like a wound, that festers
Becomes a toxic sore
With fear, exacerbates the pain
And seathes as Vulcans roar

Untreated, breeds a cancer
Where stench of bitter heart
Can kill a wench of lessor stuff
To destroy the better part

Then, like a tincture to the soul
With music, verse and rhyme
The elements once cast aside
Matured within their time

Each blossom, now emerging
With gentle, sweet bouquet
Has brought with it a healing salve
Annointed fears allay

As from a crysalis, I evolve
With wings thrust t'ward the sky
To sing among the choirs, thereof
Or write the words, there, I

Another voice, I heard beyond
That seemed to call my name
To one who recognized my soul
I answered without shame

Now onward, rise...to better things
To leave the past behind
To sing, to soar on guilded wings
With all t'was lost, entwined

And not alone, as past before
But hand in hand, e'er to
L' bella volce duet's heard
As we dance the Pas d' Deux
