What would it take to shine in his eyes;
a conspicuous countenance like the sun,
a subterranean stream of consciousness
as yet unplumbed by another’s mind?
What would it take, what incomparable quality
would pierce through his cold indifference
arrest his thoughts, grasp his heart?
He, a titan disguised as a man
with a heart that pumps crimson poetry,
a soul as ancient as my own and as mysterious
what would at last enshrine me there?
What would he chance to glance at
that in mesmerizing him would never
allow his eyes to turn away to another?
A man is a man, flesh is only flesh
temporary in its sway on his heart.
What is the secret to his steady affection?
The key to unlock his eternal devotion;
the element surpassing flesh and flash?
What unsaid words should deep call unto deep?
On the breeze of your discontent
can you hear the sound of my tender whispers?
Listen.....I’ll not shout my truth to you!
The only discontent would be the distance of two hearts that yet beat as one...the heart and soul live on in the desperation of yearning and should be rejoiced, for its existence...is truth and in the knowledge that neither...is truly alone. Eloquent beauty in these lines you pen...your heart knows...does it not?
