since you tasted ambrosia
of love unfeigned, pure?
cheated, yes you were
but she who would have been
completed by your smile

substitutes for my arms
enfold you in a gentle dream
where love is borne on west winds
that tenderly caress your face
and whisper, “it’s time now
to trust, to love again”
i'm only a bridge from there
to where you need to travel
only a voice on the wind
a love conveyed heart to heart
a place to start, your journey
toward the one who waits
for the treasure of your love
destiny is often eyes meeting
across a room, or an ocean
lips singing melodies of peace
wakening the sleeping need
to love and be loved once more
hands holding up mirrors to glimpse
images of who we really are
i'm just a candle in the wind
lighting your way again
toward love

With that candel...darkness will never be the same, with those whispers...silence will never be deaf, with that bridge...distance will ever be so great.
Although, I hope that there are enough sand in the hour-glass to get that fleeing last second before it runs empty.
