The countryside was your Nirvana
Each brook, rock and every tree
You immortalized, like a poetic god,
wonders many others never stop to see
Of capricious heart you were master
but only in fortress of your verses
For in life you could never master
deep waters, melancholy curses
You pondered long and sincerely
questions of life and death alike
Deeply you loved, deeply grieved
for friends lost to that good night
Stellar among celestial poets, wild men
who caught and sang the sun in flight
Poised on perilous cliff of greatness
angrily raging at the dying of the light
Dylan did you conquer your demons
when on another shore you stood?
Did you rage against the darkness
or quietly go gentle before you could?
Long winter evenings spent listening
to Welshman’s lilting, persuasive voice
Tell me, Dylan, are we what life makes us
can we battle for an alternative choice?
Belle, to your craft you have done great honor. Straight on from the soul of a poet of considerable talents and a heart of great depth your work impresses. "The melancholy curses" do inspire some of the most eloquent verses poets as a whole render. Curious, as most poets seek to bring a bit of joy and peaceful escape into the lives of their readers. To the fiery dedicatee and the honorable Mr. Flanagan your tributes ring with due praise for their noble abilities, their artistic styles. Another work to be savored Belle. May, peace joy and love be with you my dear friend. Jon Michael
A WELL WRITTEN WORK, DONE VERY WELL AS YOU ALWAYS DO. HOWEVER, I CANNOT AGREE WITH YOUR INTRODUCTION. I TOOK THE LIBERTY OF GOING TO A SITE WHERE ALL OF DYLAN'S WORK WAS AVAILABLE AND I READ SOME AND, IT COULD BE MY UNDEVELOPED ABILITY TO DIAGNOSE, BUT I DON'T SEE THE SIMILARITY OF FLANAGAN AND DYLAN AT ALL, EXCEPT, OF COURSE IN HERITAGE. THERE IS A 'SOMBER' ATMOSPHERE WHICH ENCOMPASSES DYLAN'S WORK THAT I DO NOT FIND IN FLANAGAN'S WORK AT ALL. CERTAINLY A MOST NOTABLE POET, DYLAN WAS, BUT A VERY TROUBLED POET...UNHAPPY AND UNRESTED. I DO NOT FIND FLANAGAN'S WORK TO BE THIS WAY...THERE IS A RAY OF 'LIGHT' EVEN IN HIS DARK WORKS. ANOTHER COMPARISON IS THAT I FIND FLANAGAN'S WORK MUCH MORE CHALLENGING THAN DYLAN'S, BUT THIS COULD BE GOOD OR BAD DEPENDING ON WHAT ONE IS IN THE MOOD FOR. AND THERE IS MORE BUT I AM NOT GOING TO GO INTO ALL OF IT AT THIS POINT. NOW, AS I SAID, MINE IS AN UNEDUCATED, LAYMAN'S POINT OF VIEW, AS YOU CAN PROBABLY TELL (SMILE)AND I DO THANK YOU FOR SHARING...FOR PROMPTING ME, BY YOUR INTRODUCTION, TO REACH OUT AND LISTEN TO A 'VOICE' I HADN'T HEARD BEFORE. GOD BLESS AND LOVE,

Phrase and line play are delightfully used in this fine tribute to one of the world's favourite poets and I'm more than honoured, indeed overwhelmed, to receive your dedication, Belle, in the same breath. Thank You.
Oh, I think this is marvelous! This is one I am going to come back to, in fact all of your poems are ones I want to sit with my tea and savor later in the day.
I'm Welsh, and my last name used to be the same as his.
Take Care,
Christine
Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,
