A day of peace, a day of joy
this day I'll spend with you
we'll make our own memories
of Christmas lights and feasts
the baby of Bethlehem adored
by two souls joined in spirit
No one will visit us today
there will be no bright laughter
of grandchildren at the door
those days seem so far away
having new memories to make
we embrace life in its beauty
each day a gift from God
A hallowed angel keeps watch
atop our brightly embellished tree
there will be aromas of the feast
from the kitchen filling the house
