How strange and yet not so... How your life touched mine today
In hearing of your pain..
My heart was touched...
Not knowing of the why..
But then it was told..
A son, who shared your life..
Was taken from our world..
Your tears filled your eyes, and
Your sadness,and your sorrow...
Made me cry with you...
Knowing of your lost...
My prayer was spoken in silence..
To comfort you...
May the days that lay ahead be filled...
With that strength and rays of light...
To overcome that darkness...
That fills your life today..

Wonderful sentiment. The poem is a wonderful expression of how I feel, too, when a friend/family's loved one dies.

I could relate to this because my neighbors husband died a few days ago and all I can do is pray for her.
A lovely remembrance for her son, I too had such a loss. Your compassion will be rewarded.

I lost my son last year, suddenly, he was not even ill. So this touched my heart. And I will say a prayer for her sorrow which I know is so devastating. Nice of you to write this wonderful poem for her. Floria
