Sandy was my little
puppy dog for over 12 years . She died yesterday, very quietly, and I dedicate this piece to my my sweet little dog.

I remember the first day you came home.

It was at New Years and in the middle of a snow storm...

You were so tiny and you fit in my hand...

I called you Sandy because you were blonde

Like the sand and I just knew we would be friends

I put you out that first day and you hopped

along the white, fluffy snow

Almost like a rabbit...

So playful and curious

You look just like Benji dog

In those movies

Always happy, always ready for fun

And waiting each time I had a candy bar

Or taking a walk in the park

You loved outside, barking at everyone

That passed by, happy-go-lucky

That's you, Sandy!

Always jumping in the front seat

Of my car, ready for a new adventure

Waiting at the front door each day

When I come home from work

Spoiled rotten you are!

But you always understood

Each and every word I said

Accepting me as I am, good or bad

Not knowing tomorrow or yesterday

Just living in the NOW, each minute

A happy Joy for Living.

This is the lesson you taught

Me, my sweet little angel dog

Sandy, you were so brave yesterday

And I cried like a baby, letting you go

Go now and run with the Angels

and play on the clouds in Heaven

Look down upon us here, still loving you

Remembering how you touched us

In your short life...

I have had many dogs in my life

But none as sweet and alive

As you
