She was supposed
to be out working the streets,
but instead his main worker
met him nose to nose,
splashing his face and mouth
with barfed yellow, stinky goo
and then cackled.
He moved to slap her,
in spite of his queasy stomach,
forgetting all about

fists balled --
tubular bells.
But when her head turned
a full three sixty,
eyes flared red,
body levitating to the ceiling,
and the lights snuffed out,
vomit, work, and violence
were the least of his concerns.
