I distinctly remember having to force myself not to grab the kids and make them crawl under the bed with me. . .and that was just a garden variety thunderstorm. {Buk-WAW-buk-WAW-buk. . .} {How DO you transcribe the ruckus a chicken sets up??}. Can't say I have gotten much braver, but. . .SEIZE THE DAY, Shoog! M O M E N T. Close the curtains, turn on a buncha lights, an' go make a batch of fudge or draw me a 'pitcher'. . .anything but worry. In my experience, it is the things we DON'T worry about that. . .never mind. Fear: so much in just one word. Tempestas is a storm in Latin and it comes from tempus, weather and time. Time passes and the weather keeps changing, nothing ever stays the same. Uncertainty also brings about the good changes! :-)

Just a few miles Northeast of you, and know of what you write. Yet...I take a different view of storms. Not completely at ease, but I still can find a beauty in the opening of the Heavens, and a sort of musical display. Nice and cool with overcast skies, now.
