Pop Corn...another name for Crack...Today I wish to call your name... Yesterday the Angel of Death came...

Amongst my city walks the Angel of Death

Pop Corn, is being scored amongst the best

Friends' around me are dropping like flies

The pipes they are smoking are whispering to them bye

Echo's fly in and out of their heads'

How many scores before they are dead

Angels' stand by calling your name's

Whispering old folks talk of your shame

Stealing and cheating has become your game

For my friends' they have no shame

Today I wish to laugh and call one of your name's

Only yesterday your Angel of Death came

This poem sure tells the end from the beginning and reveals a destiny probably not intended. Thanks for sharing;

Such a powerful write my dear friend, this curse and horrible addiction is everywhere, our young people here in Kentucky are dropping like flies as the old saying goes, so I know that it must be even worse in the more urban areas. Meth is destroying our communities, because it is cheap to purchase, but it's addiction is so very powerful, that once used...unless the person whom used it desires and seeks help weather it be by professional or the good Lord, they're in trouble and for a rude awakening! Your words should be posted in every school and public facility....write on my friend help us fight this horrible war and epidemic that is raging against drugs!
Blessings,
Joyce Bowling

Debra, how remarkable that our writes should be targeted to our youth; I'm only now reading this (Friday 5:40PM). This morning I posted my bit of prose titled "But That Was Then". Have a read sometime. In this world we have two choices: eternal life or eternal death. It's a pity how many make the wrong choice just for a taste of drug-induced ecstasy! Yours is a powerful wake-up call indeed, Debra.

Peace and love
Lena

This is stark and real and sad, Debra. You paint the picture of drug abuse powerfully. It reminds me of a poem I have posted here at AD called, "Devil's Bride." Thank you for sharing this timely and worthy message. Love and peace to you,

Regis

Strong factual if no doubt sad expression of the declining society we live in. How many kids will never see adult hood because of the palague of drugs.

How sad to read about this problem in society, and even sadder when it touches our lives personally. You did a fine job writing about this, Debra. I'm so sorry for your loss of a friend.
Love,
CJ
