In my mind
I cheat on you
my lovers stand
in queue
They come in every
shape and size
come ready to do
my bidding.
In my mind
I cheat on you
my lovers fill
the hollows
up and down
in and around--
pain, as always,
follows.
In my mind
I cheat on you
relieved your case
is otherwise
for I form a part
of the damned
those moments
unworthy of your
uncheating eyes.
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
