.

God he misses her today

Some days more than others

And how

She was like his little rock

Since God Himself is the big Rock

(Of ages, right?)

She was more than a friend

She was there, just that…

Always

No questions

She had a vested interest in him

You could say

You can’t go back, however

Like it or not

You have to keep going forward

Toward your own, he realizes

Toward your own transition

He guesses it is

Transmission?

God knows what it is

What’s in a name anyway?

And labels are bad

God he misses her today

The solution

Take drugs? Smoke pot?

Pull the trigger?

Ouch! For crying out…

No

Those acts aren’t cures

Aren’t panaceas

They’re escapes they are

Without the valves

No

Talk to Him

Tell Him

He’s the Rock

Your needed drug He is

Who’ll understand

Take your hand even

Bet ya didn’t know

Rocks could hear

Did ya?

Guess most can’t

But one can

The old Rock

Not Gibraltar

Not Rockport, Maine

The one of ages, Man.

Taking the easy way out, this sounds like suicide...a messy, selfish act friends and family have to clean up...God he misses her is rock solid. Yes, all labels are bad and so are hypocrites. "The one of ages, Man" perhaps today's Man is weak in that he segregates the ones he don't like and casts them aside as undesirables...like lepers of the past age and lower caste people of India, thrown to clean sewers...just might be a poet or two in all this crappy banishment...the real deal is to make people feel welcome and not so God uppity phanatic that ones don't cast the poet who will change lives and uplift a starving nation...turn water into wine and feed the populous...yeast rising...God he misses her...

Hey friend, your write is a bit mystical, a bit mysterious, and also has an abundance of reality and wisdom within! She...must've been quite the companion...for the other is enduring much suffering. Reminds me of when my grandparents passed away...my grandfather died on a Friday and my grandmother died the following Thursday...the only explanation was that she had grieved herself to death! One couldn't live without the other...sad...however, you've penned a solution, the only solution...go to the rock! He is our rock, our shelter in the times of storm, our friend when all others have forsaken us, and our companion when we are or think we are alone! My friend you've penned a poem of intrigue, one that is thought provoking and profound...enjoyed! Just enough information about the female character to allow the reader to draw their own conclusions, can fit several situations...well done!
Blessings,
Joyce B.

If we were able to go back we could had passed through stone walls, but, the write was in the wall, the only thing needed is to read the words and kept going forward with the missing embedded like a little thorn that soon will be forgotten by the pain of a bigger thorn.
Great writing!

Love the message in this one. Sometimes ghost can talk. It's believing the right one when it is important that counts.
