There is a light out there,
one that shines so very bright.

Yet, the storm clouds come
and darken the skies –
but I can still see that light.

Far off in the distance it might
be from time to time, its brilliance
still unmatched even in the
darkest hours.

A little spark within the soul
as it twinkles quietly, watching
the world goes by –
sometimes speaking with beautiful words.

The flutter of wings –
a calming effect.

Perhaps one day you’ll flutter back
and the sun will shine once more.
