Disenchantment of a Poet’s Heart
Artistic endeavours seem so light hearted,
Inspiration comes and goes, yet, I thought,
Something such as this would be flattery,
Not condemnation!
And to think, thy words touched my soul,
Me thinks now, as the light doth shift,
That I now know how things truly go.
Perhaps it was artistic infringement,
I must have crossed the line, somewhere,
Somehow! Yet now, all I see is red, red, red!
Must say, now I’ve learned that lesson, to
Keep mine feelings to mine self, for fear
That I might upset another. Perhaps the time
Hath come for me to wander a different way,
So that I might not step on others toes
As I scribe my emotions into prose.
